The object of Fidchell's game is the capture of the opposing pawns by strangulation.
To take a pawn, two of our pawns had to encircle it.
As soon as the opposing pawn was taken, we turned it to put it on the side of our color.
We won when all the pawns were placed and the player with the most pawns of his color dominated.
Could this Celtic game, Fidchell, be the ancestor of our current Othello (or reversi)?

Hello everyone, today we are going to talk about the 9 hole merelle.
Better known nowadays under the name of small square, mill or 9 hole game, it is a game that comes to us from Celtic antiquity.

The "20 boxes" was a game quite similar to our territory conquest board games which inspired the creation of the senet.
It was called "twenty" or "twenty boxes" or also "aseb", a word probably of Babylonian origin.
We progressed by throwing either astragalus or tetrahedron-shaped dice.
It was necessary to move on the rows of boxes one after the other, avoiding the traps of certain boxes.

In this game for two people, each player has a color of marbles.

The senet (or zénet) is the most famous game of ancient Egypt.

We played two.
The ten game pawns (5 of each color for each player) were placed on the board by alternating one pawn of each color on the first 10 squares of the game (30 squares in total).
We threw the 4 astragals (small sticks that served as dice) then we advanced the number of sticks on the rounded or colored side (depending on the ages of the game).
The first player to get all these pawns out wins the game.

Hello everyone! Today we are going to talk about Avé!
As in Ancient Rome roll the dice to combine the largest possible Roman numbers.
You decide where you enter the scores you get.
They just need to be in ascending order and only appear once.
If your dice roll does not match a Roman numeral, your turn ends.
The 6 action cards will allow you to exchange the side of a dice to your advantage.
However, if you don't use them, they earn you extra points at the end of the game.
The game ends as soon as a player has filled the 7 boxes of his score sheet and the one with the most points wins.
