2 words game Bears in barrels

2 words game Bears in barrels

Hello everyone!

Today we're going to talk about Bears in barrels!

Daring bears, 4 to 8 players, ages 7 and up, for 5 minutes, which one will be more agile to win the barrils race !

In Bears in Barrels, we're bears who must be faster to move our barrels forward and not lose too much honey to win.

Players each take three honey tokens. We position the barrels with the bears upside down. Then, two players facing each other will throw their barrels to make them roll as far as possible.

We then have to use one finger to flip the bear the other way, sending it to the other player, and so on. The bear must end up in an upright position with the bear sitting down.

If the bear doesn't reach the upright position, we put it back in the basic position with the bear upside down and try again as quickly as possible.

If the barrel arrives correctly, we then pass it to our neighbor on the left. If they don't have one, they do the same by pushing the barrel. If they have one, they are "pushed."

If you manage to turn the barrel into the correct position from the start, you can then give it to any player except the one who already has the second one.

If you're trying to turn your barrel and the person on your right gives you the second barrel, you've been "bumped."

The round then ends immediately, and you lose a honey token. When you run out of honey tokens, you're eliminated. The necessary number of rounds are played until only two players have honey left.

After counting to three, the last two players race as before, and the player with one or more honey tokens remaining while the other player has none wins the game.

Good day and game ;)

Did you know?

Did you know?

Hello everyone!

"Cinderella," a nasty case

The theme of Cinderella, the little slut who marries a prince, is ancestral. There is even a story dating back to the Pharaonic era cited by the geographer Strabo, with the anecdote of the lost slipper. Other fables circulate in Asia, America, and Europe where, once again, the fabulist Giambattista Basile proposed a text that inspired Perrault and the Brothers Grimm.

But as with Sleeping Beauty, her story is less saccharine than later versions. In her Gatta cennerentola (The Ashen Cat), young Zezolla is far from being the sweet young girl who coos with the birds. Indeed, faced with an unpleasant stepmother who imposes degrading tasks on her, she decides, with the help of her governess, to get rid of her... by breaking her neck with the lid of a heavy trunk. Unfortunately for our unscrupulous heroine, her accomplice, who will soon marry her father, is even more odious than her first stepmother, especially since she brings her six horrible daughters into the home. The rest of the story is roughly identical to the story we have heard (Perrault having added a magical, fairy-tale dimension).

Note, however, a few details that even Basile didn't dare retain: in older versions, the stepmother cuts off her daughters' heels and toes to make them fit into the tiny shoe; elsewhere, they are condemned to dance in red-hot iron clogs. It's easy to imagine the sight of those bloody, blistered feet tortured in transparent glass shoes...

Finally, while the magnanimous Perrault offers everyone a happy ending, Grimm drives the point home with this conclusion: "On the day her marriage to the king's son was to be celebrated, her two treacherous sisters went there with the intention of ingratiating themselves with her and sharing in her happiness.

As the bride and groom walked to church, the elder sister walked to their right and the younger sister to their left: then the pigeons gouged out one of each of their eyes. Then, when they returned from the church, the elder sister walked to their left and the younger sister to their right: then the pigeons gouged out the other eye of each of them. And so, as punishment for their wickedness and treachery, they were blind for the rest of their lives."

JJV's Offs

JJV's Offs

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new opus of " JJV’s Offs"!

"Reality, whatever it may be, is much more beautiful than illusion."

Even if illusion gives us the impression that something is more beautiful, it's because it makes us see things we were hoping to achieve. But in the end, reality can be a little more brutal sometimes, but at least it doesn't give us false hope.

I had the illusion when I opened the store a little while ago that since Vaison was nice, the people must be too... Then again, there's good and bad everywhere, you might say. But there are still some people here who aren't happy in their lives and want to make sure you aren't either...

When you come to the point of walking past shops several times (yes, because this kind of people do it with a lot of shops in Vaison... ^^), saying each time, "there's nothing but shit in there," "there's never anyone there," or even "he's an asshole because he/she doesn't want to do what I asked him/her," to name just three...^^

I don't know at what point a minimally sane adult thinks it's okay to talk badly about other people and put them down to give yourself the illusion of existing and being strong. I won't keep quiet about this kind of person anymore, because even when I did, I got a lot of flak because I don't allow them to disrespect me...

And when the illusion fades, we find ourselves facing reality, more or less harsh... I really like Vaison, the town, and its landscapes. But we have to face reality, even if it's not always pleasant. There are some people here who are only happy when other people are unhappy... And unfortunately, there are a few of them here... The store is called Joue le Jeu Vaison, because I am attached to this town and the people who make it more pleasant.

My reality is daily interactions with passionate and cheerful customers and players. My reality is the complicity with extraordinary people every day in the store and during gaming events.

My reality is sharing my passion for gaming with you day after day. So thank you again. ;)

Good day and good game ;)

2 words game Arkhanos

2 words game Arkhanos

Hello everyone!

Today we're going to talk about Arkhanos!

Budding magicians, 2 to 4 players, ages 12 and up, for 30 to 45 minutes. It's up to you to collect as many magic runes as possible to honor your school!

In Arkhanos, players earn prestige by participating in the construction of the four magic towers and by having the greatest number of apprentices and masters on each tower floor. With 2 or 4 players, the game ends after 8 rounds. With 3 players, the game ends after 9 rounds.

Choose one of the dice rolled on the table and place it on an empty pillar of any floor tile, filling a pillar at the same time. Next, take a token (master or apprentice) from your supply and place it in the space next to this pillar. The central tower can contain dice of any value and any color. However, the outer towers can only contain dice of a specific value and a specific color.

When you place a die on a pillar, you gain the bonus indicated on it. There are four types of pillar bonuses: gain 2 prestige, gain prestige based on the floor, activate a spell or build a tower, and activate a spell. If all three pillars on a floor tile are full, score points for that floor as follows. Each player's influence on that floor is counted. Each apprentice token is worth 1 influence, each master token is worth 2 influence.

The two players with the most influence score the prestige. If the players are tied for the most or second-most influence, each tied player scores the prestige indicated by the "tied" entry. However, if two players are tied for the most influence, the player with the second most influence does not score any prestige.

After scoring points, the next floor of the tower is built. All tokens are removed from the floor tile, except those on pillars without dice, and returned to their owners. The top floor tile is taken from the stack of tiles and placed on top of the tokens and dice on the tower floor. Each player has a spellbook with 6 spells. As they play, they mark the spells as active by placing their tokens on them. Each spell can only contain one token at a time. At any time during their turn, they can cast any of their active spells. When they cast one, they return the token to their pool, and their effect can then be resolved.

At the end of the game, they score points for each incomplete floor tile. For the greatest influence: 3 prestige; for the second greatest influence: 2 prestige; for a tie in influence: 1 prestige. In addition, each player scores 1 prestige per token on their spellbook. Each player counts their prestige, and the player with the most prestige wins the game and is declared the best wizard in the kingdom! In the event of a tie, the player with the most tokens on their spellbook wins. If there is still a tie, the player with the most tokens on the upper floors of the towers wins. If the tie persists, all tied players win.

Good day and game ;)

Did you know?

Did you know?

Hello everyone!

Pocahontas, the Powhatan Princess.

The life of the real Pocahontas was not as sweet as that of her alter-ego in the animated film. The Indian princess, daughter of the Powhatan chief, was born around 1595 near the English colony of Virginia. Initially named Matoaka (Little Snow Feather), the young girl was nicknamed Pocahontas (Little Shameless One) because of her mischievous and naughty temperament.

While she was growing up among her people, the British were expanding their colonies, particularly that of Jamestown, which included John Smith. It was then said that the Powhatan tribe captured the English explorer, sentenced him to death, and then finally spared his life at Pocahontas's request. This story is considered erroneous, and the young man is said to have invented it to forge his own legend. On the other hand, Pocahontas was indeed kidnapped by the colonists and held hostage to exert pressure on the natives. Forced to dress like English women and learn their language, the young woman was later converted to Christianity and renamed Rebecca before marrying the British John Rolfe. After welcoming their son, Thomas, they left for England, where they were welcomed at court. The princess was exhibited as a curious beast and an exotic object. Then, as she was preparing to return home in 1617, Pocahontas died on the ship following a terrible illness and was buried in Great Britain.

JJV's Offs

JJV's Offs

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new Opus of "JJV’s Offs"!

"Let me escape the lying and criminal illusion of happiness! Give me work, fatigue, pain, and enthusiasm."

Nothing is gained for nothing, and determination is often a great asset in life in general, but especially in the life of an independent business. That's good, because work doesn't scare me. I love developing new projects.

I'm very happy to have been able to share games, fun moments, and discussions in and outside the store for almost eight years now. For almost seven years, outdoor events have allowed me to introduce you to fun gems and allow you to enjoy them with you.

I'm very satisfied and proud of myself, because my daily work in the store and in outdoor events has allowed me to be a guarantee of reliability and quality for you. I wish I could honor all the event requests you send me, but I'm incredibly lucky to be hired year after year.

I appreciate how lucky I am to be able to offer you events that reflect your personality, that I love to personalize and share with you. You may wish you wanted to be everywhere, but that's not my case. I like people to talk about the store, but I don't want to gain any personal glory from it.

I'm always delighted when I'm offered new partnerships and the opportunity to promote the store by offering me articles in the newspaper (thanks again, Marinette ;) ). And I'm lucky to have customers who believe in my store all year round, so thank you too ;).

Good day and good game ;)

2 words game Eriantys

2 words game Eriantys

Hello everyone!

Today we're going to talk about Eriantys!

Apprentice wizards, for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, for 30 minutes. It's up to you to prove that you're the best wizard in the making!

In Eriantys, you take the lead of one of the four great schools of Eriantys to challenge other wizards to increase your renown and expand your school by building magical towers.

The more creatures from the same kingdom you have sitting in your common room, the more favor you'll gain from the corresponding professor. This professor influences all the creatures from his kingdom scattered across the islands in your favor. Mother Nature, meanwhile, wanders from island to island and rewards the school that influences the greatest number of creatures on its island by allowing it to build a new tower.

You must build all your towers before the other players. The loyalty of creatures from the five kingdoms is very fickle, and teachers easily change schools. Creatures who were on your side yesterday could change allegiance in the blink of an eye! Eriantys offers several different game modes, the basic rules of which vary slightly depending on the number of players. The following rules are for an easy 2-player game.

To win the game, you must place all your towers, or have the most when there are no Student discs left in your bag. Place a tower on an island visited by Mother Nature if you have the greatest influence. Influence is gained by controlling teachers. It is equal to the number of students of the corresponding color on the island.

When towers are placed next to each other, they cause the islands to unite into archipelagos, taking with them all the students and towers placed there.

The game is played over several rounds. Each round is divided into two phases: planning and actions. The planning phase consists of two steps: adding new students to the cloud tiles and adding assistant cards. The first player draws three Student discs at random from the bag and places them all on a single cloud tile. They do the same for the second cloud tile. Starting with the first player, each player plays one assistant card. The chosen card determines three things: the turn order of the following action phase, the starting player for the next round, and the number of moves Mother Nature can make.

During the Action Phase, each player takes a turn by completing the following three steps in order, starting with the player who played the lowest-value Assistant card and continuing in ascending order of card value. Move three students to your dining hall or an island. Move Mother Nature to an island, then check if her arrival island is controlled or conquered. Then unify the adjacent islands. Choose a Cloud tile, take its three new students, and add them to your entry.

When all players have taken a turn, the round is over. Start a new round with the Planning Phase, starting with the player who played the lowest-value Assistant in the previous round. A game can end if a player builds their last tower, if there are only three archipelagos/islands left on the table, or if there are not enough students on a Cloud tile. The player who builds the most towers on islands wins the game. In the event of a tie, the player who controls the most professors wins.

Good day and good game ;)

Did you know?

Did you know?

Hello everyone!

Anastasia, a princess found?

Released in 1997, the animated film Anastasia is inspired by the true story of Russia's last royal family. Having ruled the country for nearly 300 years, the Romanovs were all assassinated on July 17, 1918, during the Russian Revolution. Among them were Tsar Nicholas II, his wife Alexandra Fyodorova, and their five children: Olga, Alexis, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia.

The day after the assassinations, rumors spread that Anastasia Romanov, then 17, was still alive. Some say the bullets ricocheted off the precious stones sewn onto her dress; others base their conclusions on the interrogation of a Bolshevik soldier, claiming he buried only six bodies instead of seven. The most extravagant theories then emerged, casting doubt on the young woman's fate.

Then, in 1920, a German police officer saved a woman who had attempted suicide by throwing herself into a canal at the last minute. Since she had no papers and refused to talk, she was eventually committed to a psychiatric asylum under the name Anna Anderson.

There, her roommate recognized her as Anastasia Romanov. Several witnesses were then called. The Grand Duchess's nurse and one of her classmates also recognized her, while her former lady-in-waiting, Baroness Sophie Buxhoeveden, denied any resemblance.

The young woman later regained consciousness and insisted that she was Anastasia. Several trials took place in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, until the Hamburg Court delivered its verdict. Anastasia survived the massacre, but the young woman never provided any concrete evidence to prove her identity.

She finally died in 1984 and was indeed buried under the royal family name. However, the Romanov bodies were exhumed in the 1990s to allow for a precise identification, and a DNA test was conducted on the alleged Anastasia. The results were conclusive: Anna Anderson was not a Romanov.

JJV's Offs

JJV's Offs

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new opus of "JJV’s Offs"!

"It's a ridiculous illusion to hold on to life when it's fleeing in all directions, untamed, indomitable, proud, free."

We often have plans when we plan to create something, whether it's a business or something else. But they don't always go as planned. Because yes, the unexpected is often a big part of creation and what sometimes makes it better in the end!

No matter how well we've planned from A to Z with discipline and determination, when the unexpected intervenes, we often have to readjust our plans. I had planned to open the store in mid-to-late May 2018, but the renovations took longer than expected, so I opened on June 25th instead.

This nevertheless allowed us to receive orders on time and improve the store's layout for its opening the following month. The only problem was that opening week didn't go as I'd envisioned, not at all... Following a general power outage, the outages burned the hard drives of the three computers that then made up the cyberspace.

It wasn't the best surprise of opening week, honestly. However, I managed to find a colleague who was parting with a few computers, which allowed me to offer the cyberspace service while I waited for new computers.

And my most wonderful surprise of opening week was that you were already there and came to discover the store, which didn't yet have many items at the time. But you were admirable and you played the game. ;)

I also hadn't anticipated that events at one location would bring me a recommendation, then another, and another... These wonderful recommendations from various organizations allowed me to promote and develop outdoor events.

These in-store events were very popular before 2020 and more difficult to revive afterward. But at the same time, outdoor events took off at a great pace at that time and are still going strong now.

When we're willing to let it express itself, life offers us surprises, sometimes good or bad, but always ones that help us grow and learn.

Good day and good game ;)

2 words game Ratapolis

2 words game Ratapolis

Hello everyone!

Today we're going to talk about Ratapolis!

Skillful and clever rats from all over the city, for 2 to 6 players, ages 10 and up, for 45 minutes. It's up to you to control the city's key locations and take control of it!

In Ratapolis, you play as rats who must try to take control of the city without being too affected by the attacks of the cats who are keeping watch.

A game is played over 8 rounds. Each round is divided into 4 phases: distribution of clue cards, action planning, action resolution, and the cat attacks.

Each player receives one or more clue cards (depending on the current round and the number of players), then additional clue cards are eventually placed face up on the Balthus board. One of the Building tiles designated by these Clue cards will be attacked by the Cat during this round.

All players plan their two actions for the round simultaneously: behind their screen, they note on their sheet which action they will take first (left square) and then second (right square). There are two types of action: Attack 1 opposing Rat pawn or Move 1 of their Rat Groups. Once the previous phase is completed, players reveal their sheet.

They first resolve the action planned in the left square, then the right square, in the following order: all attacks are resolved simultaneously, then all movements are resolved simultaneously.

Once each player's two actions are resolved, all Clue cards dealt or revealed during this round are gathered face down. One of these Clue cards is then drawn at random for the Cats' Attack. Remove the designated Building tile from the game, along with all the Rat tokens on it. The freed space, called the empty zone, is now inaccessible and impassable. This building is now infested with fearsome cats.

For each Building tile marked with an orange letter, check if a player has a strictly superior number of Rat tokens compared to each of the other players. If so, they take the Advantage mini-tile corresponding to the Building.

The game ends after 8 rounds. The players then count the Gruyère cheese at their disposal. Each Rat token still in play earns its owner a number of Gruyère cheeses equal to the number indicated on the Building tile where it is located, to which must be added any Gruyère tokens obtained during the game.

The Balthus board can be turned over to facilitate scoring. All players' Rat tokens are then transferred from the Building tiles to the corresponding Gruyère cheese location. The accumulation of Rats on the back of the Balthus board often allows you to quickly determine the winner, without having to do the math. The player with the most Gruyères wins the game. In the event of a tie, the player with the most Rat tokens still in play wins.

Ratapolis can be played in classic mode, in duo mode, in teams, in 1 vs. all, with situations, or with your own creations using the materials available in the game.

Good day and good game ;)

Did you know?

Did you know?

Hello everyone!

Peter Pan, an illusory neverland

Neverland, happy thoughts, and pixie dust... The true story behind Peter Pan is far from being so cheerful. The little joker dressed all in green never actually existed, but was inspired by the life of his creator, James Matthew Barrie.

Born in Scotland in 1860, he experienced a tragedy during his childhood that has never ceased to haunt him. When he was himself 7 years old, his older brother David died suddenly, leaving their mother heartbroken. This event marked a turning point in J.M. Barrie's life, and he stepped into his brother's shoes to replace him. He wore his clothes, imitated his voice and gait, and eventually wrote him another story. It is even said that by dint of believing in his character, his growth stopped. J. M. Barrie remained frozen at his childhood height and never grew again.

Years later, when he was already a writer, J. M. Barrie became the guardian of the children of the Llewelyn Davies family, with whom he was a close friend. Jack, Peter, Michael, George, and Nicholas thus became his wards, but most of them met tragic fates as adults. George was killed during the First World War, Michael drowned at the dawn of his 21st birthday, and Peter committed suicide by throwing himself under a subway train. Some people see them as the characters from the 1911 novel Peter and Wendy, particularly through the adventures of the lost boys.

JJV's Offs

JJV's Offs

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new installment of "Offs du JJV"!

"The flower of illusion produces the fruit of reality."

I had this idea, which some found a bit crazy, of launching a board game store in Vaison. I was even told that there weren't any players in Vaison and that it wouldn't work. This is what many entrepreneurs hear when launching new projects...

It's clear that seven years later, not only are there players, but also gaming associations have been created. I now see a real craze for board games on a daily basis. Many organizations and town halls are equipping themselves with games to be able to offer them to their customers or residents.

I am very happy to see that my dream of creating a board game store wasn't in vain and that it is becoming a reality. I'm thrilled to share one of my daily passions with my fellow gamers and new gamers. Board games bring us closer and open us up to others.

So yes, if I had to do it all over again, I think I would, despite all the ups and downs related to malicious actors and the financial and health crises we've experienced and are currently going through. Because even if the life of an independent business isn't always easy, it teaches us a lot about others and ourselves.

Good day and good game ;)

2 words game Dunaia

2 words game Dunaia

Hello everyone!

Today we're going to talk about Dunaia!

Tribal Chiefs, for 2 to 4 players, ages 12 and up, for 60 minutes. It's up to you to control the Dunaias to establish peace!

In Dunaia, each player embodies a tribal chief who wishes to become the protector of the Dunaia. To do this, they construct Buildings, recreate Artifacts, complete Prophecy games, and collect Metal Flowers.

Each turn, the player chooses a black die if one is available; otherwise, they can take one of their own color. This allows them to awaken a Dunaia, which triggers the effect of the two spaces adjacent to it. Then, they recycle the Dunaia's energy by placing the die on an available Recycling space of a Level 1 Building (even on an opponent's property) or in the dedicated area of the shared board.

If at the end of a turn they successfully validate a part of the Prophecy, they take the corresponding tile. If at the beginning of a player's turn, no dice are available under the shared board, they collect all the dice, roll them, and place them under the shared board. The active player awakens the Dunaia designated by the die: they perform the Awakening effect (if any) on the two spaces adjacent to this Dunaia. The player can choose the order in which they resolve Awakening effects, either by applying an effect on an empty space or on a building under construction.

The construction marker is moved to the next space on the construction track. If the marker reaches the last space on this track, the Building is then constructed: the construction marker is returned to the reserve on the individual board and the Building tile is flipped to its Constructed side. On level 2 buildings, in addition to the effect indicated in the center of the tile, the player benefits from the effect indicated in each chevron whose adjacent building of the same color is constructed.

The active player performs an action by placing their die on a Recycling space on the common board or on a constructed level 1 Building. On the common board, you can: construct a new building (by purchasing it with Metal Flowers), hang a Metal Flower and place it on an empty space on your board, or insert a Memory Chip of your choice on the right side of the board.

By discarding the required Memory Chips, inserted on the side of your board, the player can Call on the Ancients before or after any phase of your turn. Then, he retrieves the Artifact Fragment next to this Ancient. Once the three Fragments are assembled, the Artifact is complete and will earn points at the end of the game. A new one can then be started.

The end of the game is triggered when the last Prophecy token is taken or when a player finishes building their ninth Building. The current round then ends, and each player takes one last turn. Each player removes all unfinished Buildings from their board and adds up: the points for the Buildings constructed (their level); the points for each chevron (on a level 3 Building) whose adjacent building is the same color.

These three buildings award the following victory points: 1 point for the purple Building; 1 point for the green Building; 3 points for the red Building; +2 points for the left chevron, the same color as the adjacent building. If the green building had been purple, the red building would have earned 2 more points. 2 to 4 points per Prophecy tile obtained. Points are awarded based on the number of completed Artifacts obtained: 1 artifact, 1 point; 2, 3 points; 3, 6 points; 4, 10 points; 5, 14 points; and more than 5, +4 per additional artifact and 1 point per set of three Metal Flowers.

In the event of a tie, the player with the most Prophecy tokens wins. In the event of a further tie, the player with the most Metal Flowers wins. In the event of a further tie, the players share the victory.

Did you know?

Hello everyone!

The True Story of Beauty and the Beast

Although the tale of Beauty and the Beast may have been inspired by a fable by Apuleius about the love affair between Cupid and Psyche, the fate of the two heroes is also a true story.

In the 16th century, Petrus was born in 1537 in the Canary Islands with a peculiarity: his entire body was covered in particularly long hair. The child actually suffered from hypertrichosis, the result of a rare genetic mutation.

At the age of 10, the young boy was brought to the French court and offered to Henry II, who exhibited him and allowed him to be treated like an animal. When it was determined that he was not dangerous, his name was Latinized and became Petrus Gonsalvus. The king wanted to take the experiment further and see if it was possible to turn this animal into a cultivated gentleman.

Petrus then received a classical education. Upon Henry II's death, his widow, Catherine de' Medici, took charge of his destiny and sought to find him a marriage. She found him the young and pretty daughter of one of her servants, who had no idea who she was going to marry.

Petrus and Catherine had several children together, at least four of whom were born with hypertrichosis. The family traveled extensively throughout Europe, visiting sovereigns whose curiosity compelled them to welcome and entertain them.

Upon Catherine de' Medici's death, they were forced to settle in Italy with Duke Ranuccio I Farnese, who offered the children as gifts to his entourage, as if they were pets. All traces of the family were subsequently lost, and their whereabouts and dates of disappearance are unknown.

JJV's Offs

JJV's Offs

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new opus of "Offs du JJV"!

"Life is made of illusions. Among these illusions, some succeed. They are what constitute reality."

One of the things we could have called an illusion at the very beginning of the store was to get people from Vaison and the surrounding area to play. At first, people didn't really believe it, but over the years, a wonderful community of players was created.

I was also sometimes laughed at when I talked about developing gaming activities to bring people together and have them share a good time. And now here I am, hosting events in Vaison and the surrounding area, but also expanding to several locations in France and abroad. ;)

We had given the store two or three years, but it's clear that it will soon celebrate its eighth anniversary. ;) And all of this is thanks to me and my daily tenacity and determination, but also thanks to you... Some of you have been with me from the beginning throughout the year. When I get discouraged, because yes, even with our own company, it can happen to us, I think about why I started.

And I started to share my passion for games with you; and I've continued for the same reason for almost eight years. ;) Discovering games and helping you discover them is one of my greatest victories in the daily life of the store.

Good day and good game ;)

2 words game Dark Tales expansion Cinderella

2 words game Dark Tales expansion Cinderella

Hello everyone!

Today we're going to talk about Insomnia!

Chance or fate, for 2 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, for 40 minutes, which lead will take Ella’s story!

She had to work hard from sunrise to sunset. She got up at dawn, carried buckets of water, lit the fireplaces, cooked, and cleaned. Meanwhile, the two sisters made her life hell. And in the evening, when she had worked herself to death, she didn't sleep in a bed but had to sleep by the hearth in the ashes. Since she was always covered in ash dust and dirt, they decided to name her Cinderella.

Place two cards face up in the center of the table. Pile A shows which objects can be used during the game and their effects. Pile B shows the objects that will earn points at the end of the game.

Take the cards from the deck, then remove a night card and place it face up on the playing area. Shuffle the rest and deal three cards to each player face down. Place the objects in piles by type. The number of objects is limited, but not the number of points. Each turn involves three phases: draw a card, play an item (optional), and play a card. You draw a card and add it to your hand. If there are no more cards, the game ends. You can then choose whether or not to place an item. It is then returned to the reserve after applying its effect linked to card A.

In the Cinderella expansion, a day card is added to the starting night card. Only these two cards will be used to indicate day or night. They are never removed from the center of the table. The A4 and B4 card piles are added to the base game piles. The two A and B starting cards from the expansion are also added. The expansion's starting cards indicate the points earned at the ball and then at the end of the game.

The item tiles from the expansion are not mixed with those from the base game. Cinderella tiles (square on a white background) are used to perform an additional action before playing our basic actions. Either take a tile from the pile of tiles and place it face down in front of us. Or turn a face-up tile in front of us to its hidden face, or vice versa. They can be used to earn points during the game and later at the palace ball.

Musical note tiles are used during the ball. The men and women in front of you form pairs to dance and earn you additional points. Each dancer card in front of you earns you 1 victory point. If they have a musical note, it earns you the value of the tile in play.

With the prince tile, you earn points for each pair of shoes in front of other players. The stepmother tile, where you earn one point for each step-sister dancing in front of the other players, even during the ball. The step-sister tile, which also earns a point during the ball if they dance. When a card must be removed from the game (as in the case of a secret aid), place it face down on the special ball card in one of the two spaces. The ball space can only hold two cards. If a third card needs to be added, follow these steps.

This card and the other two that were on the spaces are then removed. Night falls and a ball is held. It is possible to have more than one ball during the game. During the ball, each player earns the victory points indicated on the face-up tile in front of them, then turns all the shoes in front of them face down. Once the ball is over, all the cards that danced are discarded from the center of the table.

The player with the most points at the end of the round wins the game.

Did you know?

Did you know?

Hello everyone!

The True Story of Little Red Riding Hood

Most of the tales left to us by the Brothers Grimm, as well as Charles Perrault, are inspired by local legends and traditions spread throughout Europe during the Middle Ages.

In 1697, Charles Perrault was the first to recover the story of Little Red Riding Hood. He must have included it in his collection of folk tales, knowing that it was one of the least known among Europeans.

This story originates in a remote region of the Alps. In the legend, our protagonist is a teenager, a young girl who has just entered the adult world, hence the red hood, a symbol of the feminine cycle.

The forest is a danger zone for young people. It represents a test, a rite of passage within a community, through which it is demonstrated that children have entered the adult world.

The main threat in this forest is the figure of the wolf, an animal that symbolizes barbarity and irrationality. Something Little Red Riding Hood already knows and must face. The young girl manages to cross the woods and arrives happily at her grandmother's house, who takes her into her bed because she is sick.

The sick grandmother tells the girl in Red Riding Hood to put away the bread and milk and eat the meat prepared for her in the kitchen. Little Red Riding Hood devours her with appetite, fills up, and then follows the old woman's second order: she must take off her clothes, one after the other, and throw them into the fire, then lie down with her in her bed. The diligent girl does so without question, without thinking there is anything strange about this situation.

Just as she is about to go to bed, she discovers that the one welcoming her amidst laughter is the wolf, who reveals to her that the meat she has just eaten belonged to her sick grandmother. She committed a grave sin: cannibalism. Later, the wolf devours Little Red Riding Hood. The symbolism is present in each character: the wolf represents the sexual and violent world. The old woman devoured by the young girl represents the succession of generations. As you can see, one of the most classic and beloved fairy tales of our childhood actually hides a profoundly dark side.

JJV's Offs

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new opus of " JJV’s Offs "!

"We are born alone, we live alone, we die alone. It is only through love and friendship that we can create the illusion that we are not alone."

We are the only person we will be with throughout our lives, so we might as well take care of ourselves. We also meet different people along the way who enrich our journey on a human level, whether the experience is good or bad.

The connections we create along the way allow us to build bonds that allow us to feel less alone. I am happy to have discovered you and to continue discovering you every day in the store.

Whether through our conversations in the store or during playtime, I love learning from the life experiences we share. They all teach us something about other people and ourselves. These are timeless moments that we share and that will never come back. I enjoy sharing them with you and being able to bring you moments of conviviality.

Since I was little, I've always enjoyed bringing people together to create bonds. It's somewhat what I still do now through the store and events. I love seeing my customers and players discover and get to know each other through me; it gives me a sense of accomplishment.

As a child, I was the instigator of many games with my school friends. I often led or co-led various and varied games to enjoy moments with my classmates that are some of my most precious school memories.

That's why I like to offer you a variety of things in the store, because I like to vary the moments of togetherness to share with you.

2 words game Insomnia

2 words game Insomnia

Hello everyone!

Today we're going to talk about Insomnia!

Dream Sheep, for 1 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, for 45 minutes. Make sure everyone has sweet dreams!

In Insomnia, we are the dream sheep trying to give the sleeper a good night's sleep. We have tokens matching our sheep's color at our disposal. We choose the nightmare to use during the game.

We shuffle the dream tiles. We place one on the face-up tile, then on the face-up 10th square. We will then play in two alternating phases: the race phase and the rest phase.

We start with a race phase. During the race phase, players place cards to try to collect sleep tokens (with the little sheep symbol on a green background). At the beginning of this phase, players draw two cards from the draw pile to form their hand.

If a player draws the nightmare card, they must place it face up in the center of the table, and its effect is applied immediately. If there are multiple cards, they are all resolved at the beginning of the turn.

You start by playing a card face up in front of you, then resolve its effect. You can choose between the following actions: move your sheep a certain number of spaces; use a tile if you have enough "zzz" tokens; or move one or more "zzz" tokens on the board.

To use dream tiles, remove one of your "zzz" tokens if you were able to use the specific feature indicated on the tile. You can activate the effects of multiple dream tiles if you have the appropriate "zzz" tokens.

As soon as you cross the barrier between spaces 10 and 1, you gain five "zzz" tokens. You can decide to lie down, placing your sheep token in front of you and discarding your hand. You then draw cards to complete your hand by two. If you draw a nightmare again, you must play it and carry out its effect immediately. The nightmare token can make two types of movements: move, and if it encounters or passes a space where a player is located, it must lie down, along with its token; jump, which moves directly to the space indicated on the card and forces the players there to lie down.

Sheep scared once suffer no adverse effects, but the second time they do so, they must lie down and perform the following actions. Place your sheep token in front of you, reset your score grid to zero, and discard your hand. You are then awakened and can only play on the next turn. Some dream tiles allow you to recover and put your pawn back in place to get back into the game. If the nightmare pawn crosses the barrier, all players who are asleep or not already awake wake up.

When the race phase is over, check to see if any of the players' pawns have crossed the pillow on their score track. They then win. The number of points is counted if no one meets the victory conditions. The player with the most points wins.

Did you know?

Did you know?

Hello everyone!

Snow White could be inspired by a true story: the tragic life of Margaretha von Waldeck.

Snow White is the quintessential fairy tale. A princess of fatal beauty, a jealous queen, a poisoned apple... A timeless tale, passed down from generation to generation. But in February 2024, archaeology enters the legend. A discovered grave revives a disturbing hypothesis: what if Snow White wasn't just a myth?

Margaretha von Waldeck was born in 1533 and is the daughter of Philip IV, Count of Waldeck-Wildungen, an influential nobleman. Her mother died when she was only four years old. Her father quickly remarried Katharina von Hatzfeld, an aristocrat known for her beauty. But she despised the children from her husband's first marriage. Margaretha grew up in a bitter family atmosphere.

At 16, she was sent to Brussels where she joined the court of Mary of Hungary. In Brussels, Margaretha quickly attracted the attention of the nobility. Among her suitors was Philip II, son of Charles V and heir to the throne of Spain. Their relationship became a matter of political concern. A marriage between them would be unacceptable. Margaretha lacked the required rank.

It was in this context that Margaretha suddenly fell ill in 1554, at only 21 years old. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she died under suspicious circumstances. Her will, written in a trembling hand, fueled suspicions: was she poisoned? And by whom? Some suggest an assassination orchestrated by the Spanish court to ward off an unwanted suitor. Others believe it was her mother-in-law's hand.

JJV's Offs

JJV's Offs

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new opus of "JJV’s Offs"!

"Life is a rose, each petal an illusion and each thorn a reality."

One of my favorite thorns, which has become a conceptual reality for me, is those associations or festival committees that come to you and ask if you'll donate "some of your store's junk" for their raffle or lottery.

Yes, yes, you read that right. All this with a falsely cheerful smile while waiting for your response, or perhaps with some irritation... I couldn't say, because I don't want to get into the heads of these kinds of people and put myself in their shoes, because it seems pretty confusing...^^

So it's a concept that escapes me somewhat, coming to ask for prizes from merchants while belittling their merchandise or their store...^^ Personally, I find it quite intriguing. It happens sometimes, and I insist to these associations that I do not work with or contribute to organizations that do not respect my store...

My beautiful petal, which is my most beautiful illusion, is to believe that people who don't like each other and constantly put others down (even those they just laughed with before) will be able to appreciate people who don't want to hurt others in return...

It must be my somewhat naive side, but I'm working on it so that my good deeds remain for the lovely people of Vaison. I'm learning to distance myself and detach myself from those people who only come for one thing: to try to ruin the store...

These people will no longer receive any reaction from me in the face of their rudeness and lack of respect. Besides, generally, when they see that they get no reaction and that I remain at least minimally polite to them, they end up leaving unhappy. Often slamming the door for a more theatrical side...^^

I no longer intend to waste time or energy on people who aren't worth it because it gives me much more for you. Energy that I use to welcome you with a smile and a kind word, because that's still nicer. ;)

And just because we had a disagreeable person just before you doesn't mean it has to be lovely people like my clients who suffer a bad mood from me because of them later.

So, with these kinds of disagreeable, and sometimes very disrespectful, people, I let it slide because I know the important battles to fight and those that aren't worth it...

Because this type of person is convinced they have the right to treat people like that because the people around them have always let them do it that way... I'm no Don Quixote, I wouldn't fight windmills. I prefer to have the energy and time to dedicate to the store, offering you original games and custom events. Because the most important thing in the end, and that's why I created the store in the first place, is to share good times around games with you. ;)

Good day and good game ;)

Recognized mediums, take up the challenge. 4 to 8 players, ages 10 and up, for 15 minutes, to guess the secret object using clues from the mysterious spirits!

In Phantom Ink, there are two teams, each composed of a spirit and one or more mediums. The mediums must guess a secret object that both spirits know. Each spirit wants their medium(s) to find the secret object first.

The mediums on each team take turns asking their spirit a secret question in order to get an answer (a clue) about the secret object. The spirit slowly writes the clue, letter by letter, until interrupted by their team, who doesn't want to reveal their clue to their opponents.

The players are divided into two teams: Moon and Sun. Each team's spirit is chosen, and the other members are mediums. The mediums then draw seven question cards and look at them discreetly. The spirits from both teams choose a secret object word together and can use the numbers to discuss their choice.

The mediums on the same team share their hand of cards, brainstorm together, and can pass secret notes. The teams take turns, but the Sun team goes first. During a team's turn, the writing pad is oriented so that it faces that team. The medium on that team then decides whether to ask a question or guess the secret object, and then follows these steps:

On their turn, the Medium can connect with the spirit to obtain clues that will allow them to learn more about the secret object they need to find. The Medium chooses two question cards from the seven in their hand and gives them to their team's spirit.

The spirit discreetly consults them, chooses one to answer, returns it to the medium, who keeps it face down and discards the other question card face up.

On the writing pad, in the team's first available space, the spirit begins slowly writing a Clue, letter by letter. The clue must answer the chosen question about the secret object. The spirits must read the letters aloud as they write.

When the Medium thinks they have found the clue their spirit is writing, they say "Silencio." The spirit then immediately stops writing (if they were writing a letter, they finish it, then stop). The medium then places the question card they just played face down in front of them. They can consult it at any time during the game. The medium draws two new Question cards to once again have seven cards in their hand.

On their turn, and if they think they have guessed the secret object, the medium can decide to offer an answer. The medium writes the first letter of their guess in the first available space on their team's writing pad and says it aloud. If the letter is correct, their team's spirit knocks on the table.

The Medium adds the next letter, saying it aloud. Both players repeat these steps until a letter is wrong, or the guess is complete (when the last letter of the guess is written, the Medium adds a dot to signal to the spirit that they are finished).

If the letter is wrong, the spirit places their finger on their lips and crosses out the incorrect letter. The medium can no longer write. The round ends, and it's the other team's turn. There is no penalty for an incorrect guess, except that the team loses a turn when they could have obtained a clue.

When your team begins a turn at a writing pad with an eye icon, your team's spirit medium can ask to see the next letter of any Clue that was started on the writing pad, including a clue from the opposing team. The spirit who wrote the Clue then adds the next letter (and also scores a point if it's the last letter). Your team then continues their turn normally (either by asking a question or by attempting to guess the secret object). When the spirit medium has correctly written their guess in full and each letter has been validated by the spirit, the team has guessed the secret object and wins the game!

Good day and good game ;)

Did you know?

Did you know?

Hello everyone!

The Monte-Cristo account is inspired by real facts.

"The Count of Monte-Cristo" is inspired by a shoemaker who took revenge for his denunciators after years spent in prison. Published in 1844, this is one of the best known novels of Alexandre Dumas. The story of Edmond Dantès, a young sailor unfairly imprisoned at the Château d'If near Marseille. After escaping, he discovered a treasure on the island of Monte-Cristo and turns into a noble count to take revenge on those who betrayed him.

To write her stories, Dumas usually draw inspiration from real facts. For Monte-Cristo, he relies on police archives written by Jacques Peuchet. We find the story of François Picaud, shoemaker in Nîmes.

In 1807, François Picaud wished to marry a rich young woman, as Edmond Dantès must marry Mercédès. A local merchant tells the police that he suspects Picaud to be an agent from England. This is not the case, but François Picaud will still be locked seven years in a fortress. At his release, in 1814, he changed his name for that of Joseph Lucher, disguised himself as religious and, as with Dumas, will take revenge on one of those who ruined his life.

A love intrigue, a story of betrayal, adventure and a thirst for revenge: we find the central elements of the Count of Monte-Cristo

But in reality, the story of François Picot is also fictionée, as was much done at the time. However, it is itself inspired by a true story, that of a Marseille convict.

"Gaspard-Étienne Pastorel, who was condemned to galleys, apparently, is someone who borrowed several identities, as in the history of Picaud and as in the history of" Monte-Cristo "and of which apparently we would find a trace in the archives of the Lyon police prefecture.

JJV's Offs

JJV's Offs

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new opus of "Offs du JJV"!

“The adventurous heart is laughing at these illusions. He knows of sure science that the risk, the mystery, the unexpected, the irrational constitute the true order of life, the real reason. "

You cannot plan your life a hundred percent, because life always has surprises in store for us. This is what makes her always more astonishing. If everything was flat and repetitive, life would lack this I don't know what mystery that it offers us on a daily basis.

When you are keen to marvel and try to live life in an unconventional way, you discover unsuspected treasures. Of course we also meet resistance from people who love their daily train.

It’s very good to love to have your own pace and want lifestyle. This is not a reason to try to demotivate those who want to do more than living a daily copied-pacored.

The story is not necessarily endless and if everyone lived like other people, nothing will have ever evolved. We cannot always do the same thing and wait for different results. I am not afraid of change because it always brings new ideas and possibilities of evolution.

If I had stayed in classical animation, I would never have met its different people from different horizons, ages and environments as I currently do with my store and my external animations.

If I hadn't dared to launch and continue the store while listening to bad languages, I would never have lived all these beautiful life experiences with you. I would have done well with unlikely or even vicious people.

You can't do without so I learned to do with it. As if it was normal to leave an open door when it is hot and to lose the freshness of a shop just because it is funny ... or even to leave its used hygienic towel in a store gate because it is funny, you understand.

I'm not even talking about those people who find it normal to tell you that there is never anyone in your store and that you would better close permanently ... We know by whom they are sent these, huh! ;) Not only should you do with these unpleasant people and who have ever asked for their opinions but you can be sure that they will give it to you anyway ... ^^ But we will do with it since we cannot do without ...;)

In the end, I appreciate living my life as I plan and to be surprised because she has to bring me to enrich my experience throughout the way. :)

Good day and good game;)

2 words game Magic Dwarf cards

2 words game Magic Dwarf cards

Hello everyone!

Today we're going to talk about Magic Dwarf cards!

Follow the crazy fires, from 1 to 6 players and from 5 years for 15 minutes, to recover all the precious stones!

In the magic dwarf, bring all the apprentices through the magic forest to the Jasper mine before the witches reached it. To do this, choose your cards judiciously and move apprentices faster than witches. Only mutual aid and cooperation will allow you to all win this magic race together!

Each turn, move the pawn corresponding to the chosen card. Make sure that all apprentices reach Jasper's mine before one of the two witches succeeded.

Move apprentices and witches through the forest.

Among you, the person who saw a gnome last begins, then the part continues in the direction of the needles of a watch.

In turn, reveal a forest card of your choice and place it next to the forest card revealed at the start of the game. Each turn, you therefore have the choice between 2 visible face cards.

Use one of these cards to move a pawn along the way.

Choose together the best card for this turn.

The card indicates whether you should move an apprentice or a witch. It also indicates the color of the follet fire box on which the pawn must be moved. Take the pawn and place it on the location of this following free feuil in the path. Jump over the already busy crazy fire boxes.

Think together with the apprentice or witch pawn that you move.

Then spread the card used and place it in a boss of discard. Please note, you can never choose cards in this battery. When there are no more cards in the forest, mix the cards with the discard and place them around the magic path as you did at the start.

Some cards represent the Jasper gnome. If you choose the Jasper card, go back a pawn of your choice of the number of crammed lights indicated. Perfect for repelling witches! There too, ignore the occupied follet fire boxes. Once the pawn is moved, it is the next person's turn.

When there are no more follet fire boxes of the color indicated on the way, move the apprentice or witch pawn on its site of the arrival tile. As soon as the 4 apprentices have joined the arrival tile, you win the game. But beware, if 1 witch does it before, it's lost!

If after several games, you cannot reach Jasper before the witches, set yourself an easier goal: try to bring 2 then 3 apprentices on the arrival tile to win the game. You are on the right track!

It’s far too easy!

If you are ready to take up a more ambitious challenge, try to complete the following 7 levels. In each of them, witches are one step ahead. Can you still join Jasper before them?

Variant “sorcerer's duel“ (2 to 6 players)

After giving the magic crystals to apprentices, Jasper decides to organize a friendly race. You face 2 teams, apprentices against witches, and try to bring all your pawns until the arrival before the opposing team. Distribute the

More equitably possible to train two teams and decide who will play witches and who will play apprentices. Take a role card corresponding to your team and place it visible in front of you.

Return the departure tile and the arrival tile on the face where the raccoon is located and place 3 apprentices and 3 witches on the corresponding boxes of the departure tile. Store the remaining apprentice pawn in the box, you will not need it in this variant.

During a sorcerer's duel, no card is revealed. Instead, a person from each team (choose the one who begins) takes two cards in hand at the start of the game. She then plays one of her 2 cards and moves a pawn accordingly, as explained previously.

Decide as a team which card to play and which pawn to move.

Then draw a card, then it’s the opposing team to play. The first team that brings all their pawns on the arrival tile wins the game!

Good day and good game;)
