In Cóatl: The Card Game, players compete to paint the most beautiful and valuable feathered serpent.
A temple honoring the gods has just been erected in the heart of the Aztec city. Inside its walls, paintings of feathered serpents will adorn the sanctuary to pay tribute to the gods. To decide who earns the honor of decorating the temple walls, the empire’s most prestigious Cóatl painter must be chosen.
In *Cóatl: The Card Game*, players compete to paint the most beautiful and valuable feathered serpent. The serpent—or Cóatl—is made up of a Head card, a Tail card, and eight Body cards.
On their turn, players play two cards to create—and then claim—patterns matching the requirements of available Prophecy cards. If you complete a Prophecy card that another player already holds, you steal it from them and place it in front of yourself. You score more points by creating the same pattern more than once, and you can even secure a Prophecy card so that other players cannot steal it from you.
A game consists of five rounds. Players can earn bonus victory points by fulfilling the requirements listed on a Temple card. When the last player completes their Cóatl, the player with the most victory points is declared the winner.
Cóatl: The Card Game also features a solo mode and includes the Golden Feathers expansion, which is compatible with the original Cóatl base game!
