I'm certainly going to be crazy like Eugène Ionesco announced, because I'm going to talk about something that goes against my time...
It seems that sometimes hurting people has become fashionable... I wasn't born at a time when bullying was commonplace. I was born at a time when teachers were respected and we were punished by our parents when that wasn't the case.
I was born at a time when bullies were punished by teachers and their own parents... No, bullying, no matter our age, is not a norm!
We see so many cases of bullying or cases of teenage suicide that it seems like it's becoming a "norm". When is it normal to be happy about someone killing themselves?
In my work with children in difficulty, I cannot imagine not intervening if a child is being bullied by another child…
If we let things happen, how can we pretend to be surprised and say we don’t understand why bullying is thriving? It’s not just bickering or an unfunny joke…
If we find it funny to laugh at someone knowing that it will hurt them, then it’s not funny. Hurting others is NOT funny. Can you imagine someone doing the same thing to you or to your loved ones? I don’t think it always makes you laugh as much…
I experience belittling and mockery about myself and through the store by adults (sometimes even older ones) who seem to find it enjoyable.
Fortunately for me, I have been strong and aware of my own value for a few years now and I know that their value judgments are only projections of the discomfort they feel in their own life… But imagine a child or teenager who is already questioning himself.
Everyone thinks as they want, and fortunately, but do not think that bullying will help you overcome the discomfort that is in you. I wish with all my heart that you find peace within yourself, it is so pleasant! Try it, you will see ;)
