Time is always a just teacher and always ends up revealing what is hidden from view. I'm not the type to retaliate for the harm done to me, because you can't put out a fire with oil.
Yes, I've been harassed daily since I opened the store in June 2018. I don't know if it's because things have calmed down a bit recently, if it's me distancing myself more and more from this behavior, or both; the fact is, I won't keep quiet.
I kept quiet for years, and it only led me to be increasingly bothered by adults who think they're superior to others by belittling them. I don't think that taking their negativity out on others makes them all that happy, since they continue on a daily basis.
And then when people say that you have to keep quiet to keep the peace, I quickly understood that it only keeps the peace of the people who don't leave others alone. So, yes, I would open my mouth to talk about these behaviors that some find normal.
Not just for myself, because I'm capable of handling gratuitous nastiness, but also and especially for those people who suffer and don't know how to move on. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I would NEVER side with people who bully...
I even have people who hate me because I didn't suffer as much as they would have hoped by trying to hurt me. I find it sad that they love themselves so little that they feel the need to go to this point.
These people who hide their game always end up dropping the mask and showing their true colors. As some of you may have noticed recently, I'm not the type to hide my cards and plan dirty tricks. It's simply not in my nature.
When you find yourself with Vaison shopkeepers who are being belittled for city hall vouchers or told in their stores that they sell crap, everything ends up getting out, including who's doing this kind of thing... Believe me, if I have something I don't like, I won't beat around the bush and tell you politely, but I will tell you.
That's why some people find me mean. Because quite simply, I don't say what they want to hear, but what I think. Always respectfully and without backstabbing, and some people don't appreciate that. That's good, they'll deal with it like I had to with their meanness, gossip, and rumors of all kinds...
Life can stop at any time, and getting worked up over schoolyard nonsense is not for me. I've decided that other people's moods will no longer affect my own. And if they don't want me to talk about what they're doing because they come across as bad people, they should have stopped behaving that way in the first place...
Personally, I have a clear conscience and a peaceful life, not bothering anyone. Not sure that's the case for everyone. Good luck to those who suffer the childish actions of these people, and remember that you have or represent something that they are not or don't have.
To all those people who can't hurt others, I see you and I believe in you. Maybe you're also being bothered because you're not bad. Ignore them. Giving them attention delights them.
