Hello everyone!
Welcome to a new opus of "JJV Offs"!
"The invention of the computer has opened up new perspectives for humanity."
Some inventions have left their mark on history, whether global or local. The computer, for example, allowed us to find information sources worldwide. In the world of local games, you surely remember JouéClub or Paradis des Bébés.
That store, with its kind gentleman who was always full of helpful advice, reminded me, as someone not originally from Vaison, of a little gentleman who ran a similar shop in Angers, where I'm from.
So I can completely understand the affection you had for this kind gentleman who watched you grow up; it was the same for me with the gentleman from the west.
I'm always happy to see customers I had when they were younger, eight years ago, who used to come with their parents, still loyal to the store. I also see you growing, and I'm very happy when the projects you care about come to fruition. ;)
Even though the internet allows you to find information about games, it will never replace your passionate game advisors. For many of us, we're passionate gamers ourselves before we recommend games to you.
So yes, technology is a great help in our daily lives, but I'm not sure it can replace human interaction. What I love about visiting other shops, and what I try to implement in my own store, is fostering human connection.
It's always nicer if we can chat a bit, about games in my case, or about other topics. I especially love people who are passionate about their work, because they often have invaluable knowledge in their field.
I try to restrain myself, because once I get going on a topic I'm passionate about, I find it hard to stop...^^
Good day and good game! ;)
