On a residual space at the entrance of Chinatown stands the Sam Kee Building, the narrowest commercial building in the world.
This is the Sam Kee Company procured a standard size pitch in 1903.
When the City expropriated 7 m of the front part of the land to widen the street, the owner swore that he would build anyway.
The building, 1.8 m wide, was erected about 10 years later.
