Today we're going to talk about Cannon Buster!
Daring pirates, for 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, for 30 minutes, stage the most spectacular mutiny to become the new captain!
The battle to conquer Treasure Island begins. The cannons fire, and the pirates fight and collect as much precious cargo as possible.
Cannon Buster is inspired by Koryŏ, but was designed as a family game offering increased interaction between players.
Specifically, each round (six in total), players draw cards according to the round number, then place three in front of them. Players receive cards and will play three of them in order to take advantage of the power of the families they have the most of.
However, the cards for the round are revealed simultaneously, and surprises are frequent. They then determine who has the majority of each character, use their majority effects, and fire cannons. There are also cannons that may (or may not) thin the ranks of opposing players.
Ships will clash with cannon fire while pirates use their special powers to amass as much gold as possible. The player who controls the most pirates and has amassed the most gold at the end of the sixth round will be crowned the new master of Treasure Island.
After six rounds, the winner is determined by counting the gold coins and the number of character tokens in their possession. Bonus points are awarded for possessing ancient cannons.
At the end of the game, the value of our majority families and our gold coins are added together. At least, those we managed to keep... Control the pirates and destroy your opponents to end up as the richest pirate.
The player with the most gold and pirates at the end of the six rounds of the game wins the title of master of Treasure Island.
