Amateur Thieves, for 2 to 4 players, ages 7 and up, for 20 minutes. It's up to you to use your cunning to win the most eggs!
Master Fox, the famous fox, wants to take a vacation far from his Grisbois estate. But before leaving, he will choose a replacement from among the most intrepid thieves in the forest. To prove your worth, you will have to complete the missions entrusted to you by the illustrious rogue and bring back the biggest possible haul from the neighboring farm.
The first player to collect 10 Egg tokens wins the game and becomes the new Master Fox. For experienced players, increase this objective to 15 tokens.
Draw 3 Mission cards and place them face up on the table. These will be the objectives for your night of thievery; everyone must clearly identify them. Each player must collect one Loot token per card.
The oldest player shakes the box to shuffle the tokens. Pull your masks down over your faces so you can't see anything. The player who shook the box removes the lid, then counts to three, signaling the start of the round.
Each new round, you will draw 3 new cards and place them on top of the previous cards. Every three rounds, you will draw only 2 cards, and the draw pile will be empty. The uncovered card is always part of the round's mission.
On the following round, shuffle all the cards together and create a new draw pile. To capture the loot: using only one of your hands (the "capture" hand), you must grab the loot tokens corresponding to this round's mission, one by one, and place them safely in your other hand, which serves as your bag. You can return any loot you've captured to the box, but you can't have more than four Loot and/or Trick tokens in your bag (there isn't enough room!).
As soon as a player has at least three loot tokens in their bag, they can say "STOP!" Everyone stops playing, and the players lift their masks. If you have a Loot token in your captured hand, return it to the box and count the points.
To represent the points they just earned, each player takes the equivalent in Egg tokens, worth 1 or 3 points. Trick tokens are introduced throughout the game. There are none during the first round.
Warning! You must never have more than one Trick token in your bag. If you do, when it's time to score for the round, the player in question loses 1 point, and none of their Trick tokens have any effect. Starting in the second round, you will add Cunning tokens (Fox, Snake, and Hammer). These remain until the end of the game.
During round 2, add the two Fox tokens to the box. During scoring, a Fox earns you one additional point. During round 3, add the two Snake tokens to the box. During scoring, a Snake allows you to steal loot of your choice from an opponent's bag before the points are tallied.
If two players have a Snake, the player with the most points steals first. If the score remains tied, the older player steals first. You cannot steal a Cunning token.
During round 4, add the Hammer token to the box. During scoring, the Hammer will protect you from players who have collected a Snake token, preventing them from stealing from you. The game ends as soon as a player has collected at least 10 eggs (15 in "experienced" mode). The player who has collected the most eggs wins the game; in case of a tie, the youngest player wins.
Good day and good game ;)
