Hello everyone!
Today we're going to talk about Insomnia!
Dream Sheep, for 1 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, for 45 minutes. Make sure everyone has sweet dreams!
In Insomnia, we are the dream sheep trying to give the sleeper a good night's sleep. We have tokens matching our sheep's color at our disposal. We choose the nightmare to use during the game.
We shuffle the dream tiles. We place one on the face-up tile, then on the face-up 10th square. We will then play in two alternating phases: the race phase and the rest phase.
We start with a race phase. During the race phase, players place cards to try to collect sleep tokens (with the little sheep symbol on a green background). At the beginning of this phase, players draw two cards from the draw pile to form their hand.
If a player draws the nightmare card, they must place it face up in the center of the table, and its effect is applied immediately. If there are multiple cards, they are all resolved at the beginning of the turn.
You start by playing a card face up in front of you, then resolve its effect. You can choose between the following actions: move your sheep a certain number of spaces; use a tile if you have enough "zzz" tokens; or move one or more "zzz" tokens on the board.
To use dream tiles, remove one of your "zzz" tokens if you were able to use the specific feature indicated on the tile. You can activate the effects of multiple dream tiles if you have the appropriate "zzz" tokens.
As soon as you cross the barrier between spaces 10 and 1, you gain five "zzz" tokens. You can decide to lie down, placing your sheep token in front of you and discarding your hand. You then draw cards to complete your hand by two. If you draw a nightmare again, you must play it and carry out its effect immediately. The nightmare token can make two types of movements: move, and if it encounters or passes a space where a player is located, it must lie down, along with its token; jump, which moves directly to the space indicated on the card and forces the players there to lie down.
Sheep scared once suffer no adverse effects, but the second time they do so, they must lie down and perform the following actions. Place your sheep token in front of you, reset your score grid to zero, and discard your hand. You are then awakened and can only play on the next turn. Some dream tiles allow you to recover and put your pawn back in place to get back into the game. If the nightmare pawn crosses the barrier, all players who are asleep or not already awake wake up.
When the race phase is over, check to see if any of the players' pawns have crossed the pillow on their score track. They then win. The number of points is counted if no one meets the victory conditions. The player with the most points wins.
Good day and good game ;)
