Hello everyone!
Today we're going to talk about Feitherweight fiesta!
Birds of all kinds, playing together or against each other, for 2 to 4 players, ages 7 and up, for 20 to 30 minutes, strike a pose to achieve the most prestige!
Everyone loves selfies, and birds are no exception! These birds hop happily from wire to wire before immortalizing their poses in photos that are as funny as they are clever.
With the rules of the classic game, the goal is to score the most points by reproducing the poses of the birds on the Selfie cards on the wire. The player who best imitates the birdsong starts, and then play proceeds clockwise.
The Selfie cards are sorted by the level indicated on the back (2/3/4/5 birds) and divided into 4 separate, easily accessible piles. Then, each player receives one Level 2 card, one Level 3 card, and 3 eggs. The remaining eggs are placed in a supply next to the Selfie cards.
The game has two main phases: perching and posing; and flying away from the nest (the happy ending).
Choose four birds of different colors and balance them in the center of each of the four wires. Randomly place the remaining birds on the pegs shown around the edge of the box.
When placing the birds, each player, on their turn, has two choices: move a bird or take an egg. The "move a bird" action allows you to either take a bird from the edge and place it on the wire of your choice, or take a bird from a wire and move it to a new location on one of the four wires.
As the game progresses, the wires become covered with birds, and you'll need to be skillful to insert the one you want to play among the others! It's perfectly acceptable to "push" the birds in place, but only using the bird you wish to insert. If a clumsy player knocks over one or more birds, each of their opponents takes an egg from the supply. The fallen bird(s) return to land on the border pegs.
A player who has chosen the "move an egg" option can spend eggs to extend their turn. For each egg spent, they are allowed to move one bird. The "take an egg" action allows you to: • retrieve an egg from the reserve. • as a bonus, the player can also, if they wish, discard a card and then replace it by drawing from the pile of their choice.
When, after either action, a player manages to recreate a combination of birds identical to one of their two Selfie cards, they can validate that card. They announce "selfie!", place it in front of them, and then draw a new card from the pile of their choice.
Keep a close eye on the birds' movements! When a player announces they have finished their turn, opponents who have a playable Selfie card can validate it. They then place the card in front of them and draw a new Selfie card from the pile of their choice. The back of the cards indicates the number of birds needed to take each selfie.
This is also the number of points that will be scored at the end of the game. The player and/or their opponents can only take one selfie per turn. It is not permitted to move the last bird played.
The bird-placing phase ends when a player takes the last bird from the edge or when they draw the last selfie card. The player's turn ends. Before the game completely ends, the Happy End takes place, during which the birds fly away… and perhaps allow the players to score some extra points!
Before playing, remove (if possible) any birds that are alone on their wires. Starting with the player to the left of the last player, players take turns gently pulling on a bird's tail before releasing it. The goal is to make the birds fly away, leaving only one bird on that wire.
If a player succeeds, they remove the remaining bird and can, as a reward, claim one of their Selfie cards. If they have no Selfie cards left, they take an egg instead. This continues as long as there are birds remaining. The player whose turn it is can choose any of the four wires. They are not required to play on the same wire as the previous player.
The game ends when there are no more birds on the wires. Players then tally the number of points indicated on their claimed Selfie cards. They also score 1 point for each egg they still possess.
The player(s) with the most points win the game. • It is never possible to move a bird to the edge. • You can play as many eggs as you like, but you can only take one selfie per turn. • A bird is considered to be next to a post if nothing separates it from that post. The distance between the bird and the post doesn't matter.
Playing in cooperative mode allows you to take on additional challenges. Most of the rules are the same, but there are a few differences. Score the most points by recreating the poses of the birds on the selfie cards along the wire.
The setup remains the same: • Deal one level 2 card, one level 3 card, and three eggs to each player A. Undealt eggs are discarded and will not be used. In cooperative mode, you cannot win eggs. The remaining Selfie cards are shuffled to form a single draw pile B. • Draw the top 3 cards from the deck and place them face up for everyone to see. These are the shared selfies C. • Create a pile with the 6 Smartphone tokens D.
In cooperative mode, the player takes turns taking a bird from the edge and placing it on a wire 1. After moving a bird from the edge to the wire, the player can spend one or more eggs to move birds already on wires 2.
As the game progresses, the wires become covered with birds, and you'll need to be skillful to insert the one you want to play among the others! It's perfectly acceptable to "push" birds into place, but only using the bird you want to insert.
Birds that fall off the wire are not put back into play. They fly off to other skies.
Selfies can only be taken when the player whose turn it is decides to sacrifice one of the shared Smartphone tokens by removing it from the game. At that point, all players can reveal and validate their successful selfies. A player can therefore validate both of their cards in the same turn. The visible shared selfies are also checked.
So, play the Smartphone tokens sparingly! Players then replenish their hand and the three shared selfies, and the game continues. Players are not allowed to show their cards or indicate preferred locations! They can only announce the number of selfies they can take. The bird-posing phase ends when a player takes the last bird from the edge or plays the last Smartphone token. That player's turn ends.
Before the game completely ends, the Happy End takes place, during which the birds fly away… and perhaps allow players to play a few more cards! Before playing, remove (if possible) all the birds that are alone on their wire A. Players gather the cards they still have in hand, along with the shared selfies, and place them on top of the draw pile B.
Starting with the player to the left of the last player, players take turns gently pulling on a bird's tail before releasing it. The goal is to make the birds fly away, leaving only one bird on that wire. If the player succeeds, they remove the remaining bird and can, as a reward, validate 2 Selfie cards from the draw pile. This continues as long as there are birds left. The player whose turn it is can choose any of the 4 wires. They are not required to play on the same wire as the previous player.
All cards were validated without resorting to the Happy End: A resounding victory! All cards were validated thanks to the Happy End: Well done, that was a close call! Not all cards were validated: Tough luck! You'll do better next time!
Good day and good game! ;)
