It has now been three years since the exploration of Demeter 1 began. Shahrazad's expedition was a real success and funds for the exploration of the second moon of Demeter were allocated by New India.
This second expedition was to be led by Ayati and her brother Ashwatthama, but at the last moment it was ultimately Michelle de la Rose, newly promoted ambassador of the Earth, who would take the lead in this mission!
This second moon of Demeter is named, as New India desired, Varuna, god of the oceans and Guardian of the East. Varuna has the particularity of being 89% covered by oceans and populated by dinosaurs, the vast majority of which are aquatic. Will studying ichthyosaurs and mosasaurs be a problem for you? Never !
It is therefore on board a state-of-the-art exploration submarine that you will discover the almost twin sister of Demeter 1! To the adventure !!! Score more Mission Points (MP) than your opponents to win the game! A Varuna game lasts 13 turns, each of which is divided into 3 phases.
Phase 1 - Reveal one card from each deck A player draws one card from each of the 5 decks and places these 5 cards in their respective discard pile, face up. These are the 5 cards available for this round.
Phase 2 - Choose a card, suffer any damage and trigger the action of the selected card Simultaneously, each player chooses one of the 5 available cards (without taking it) and resolves the following steps in order.
He first surrounds the leftmost square of his Action zone corresponding to the color of the chosen card. Then he suffers any damage indicated on the other revealed cards. Add up the damage indicated on the 4 cards you did not choose.
This amount indicates the amount of damage incurred by your submarine during this turn. Subtract from this value the number of obtained. This total indicates the damage actually suffered by your submarine this turn: check this same number of boxes starting at the top of your damage track.
If a player checks the last box on their damage track, their submarine has sunk and they are eliminated from the game. Then, he triggers the Action indicated on this card. At the end of the 13th round, the end of the game is triggered and the players mark their MPs in each category: Add these categories together, then subtract the damage your submarine took.
The player with the most MP wins the game! In the event of a tie, the victory is shared.
