Fake Crystal New
The little extra: manage your crystal resources wisely to secure the majority!
Year 2377 of the New Era: steam—once the world's primary energy source—has been relegated to obscurity. The discovery of a process to energize "power crystals" changed everything; humanity now runs on crystals.
Fake Crystal is a trading and bluffing game with a closed economy where the goal is to win by accumulating crystals, earning trophies, and saving credits.
Play continues until the supply runs out, with turns divided into two phases: the Offer and the Trade.
The Offer
Simultaneously, each player places two tiles in front of them (one in each column) on the space corresponding to their estimated value. Next, the price for each tile is set by placing crystals above the column. The minimum price is one crystal.
The Trade
Starting with the first player, everyone takes turns choosing a transaction with an opponent. You can either buy their crystal by paying the asking price—placing the tile face-up in your play area—or "Bank" it. Banking means you collect the money the other player put up, but they keep the tile face-up in front of them. If you are unable to perform either action, you get your stake back and place the tile face-up in front of you.
You can then claim a Trophy token if you don't already have one, provided the added tile isn't a "Fake Crystal" and you meet the required conditions.
If you acquire a "Fake Crystal" tile, you flip your Power token to its "Active" side. You can use this at any time to activate the special ability on the Objective board. Next, draw the next 2 tiles from your supply and pass the First Player token to the next player. Once the supply is exhausted, play one final round using the 4 tiles remaining in your hand, then discard the last 2. All that’s left is to score!
