Check out "Fruit Cup," a family game where you become a chef preparing fruit salads to suit the King's whims. Combining observation, speed, quick thinking, and dexterity, players compete to fulfill objective cards. Featuring colorful cups, spoons, and recipe cards, this entertaining game delights players of all ages.
Each round consists of 3 phases:
Phase 1 - Preparing the fruit salad
Draw the top card from the deck and discard it, revealing the second card to everyone. Then, all players simultaneously use their spoons to remove fruit from their cups until only the required fruits remain.
When a player believes their fruit salad is ready, they place their cup on the first available Animal tile (in numerical order): the first to finish takes the Monkey King tile, the second takes the Lemur tile, and so on.
When the second-to-last cup is placed on an Animal tile, the final player must also place theirs on the last remaining tile, even if they haven't finished preparing their fruit salad.
Phase 2: Checking the fruit salad composition
Empty all cups—except for the last player's cup (the one placed furthest from the Monkey King Animal tile)—and leave the fruit next to the cup it came from. Flip over the Recipe card and check that the fruit in each cup exactly matches the fruit shown on the Solution side.
If the fruit matches exactly, leave the cup where it is. If the fruit is different, put the fruit back into the cup and move the cup to the end of the row, behind the very last cup.
Repeat this check for all the other cups up to the second-to-last one. The last cup is never checked. Once all cups except the last one have been checked, slide the cups together to fill any gaps without changing their relative order.
Phase 3: Scoring
After the checking phase, and following the order of the cups, each player removes the score token corresponding to the value of the animal tile where their cup was located from their individual board. Then, they must shift all their tokens one space to the left to fill the gap left by the removed token. After the scoring phase, a new round begins (unless the game is over). The player who won the last round reveals the new Recipe card.
The game ends as soon as a player discards their "0" token. The winner is the player (or players) with the highest score, calculated by adding up the values of all their score tokens.
