Ancient Terrible Things: Reawakened is a pulp horror board game for 1 to 4 players.
You play as a fearless and daring adventurer exploring a river deep within a dark jungle in search of Secrets.
Each turn, you must travel to a Fateful Location and face a Disturbing Encounter.
If you triumph over the Encounter (through a combination of dice, tokens, and cards), you gain Secrets.
The goal of the game is to be the player with the most Secrets when the game ends with an Unexplained Event.
The game involves rolling dice to create combinations: runs, pairs, three of a kind or more, and a die showing a special number or higher. Dice combinations are used to overcome Encounters and acquire the four resources needed for the game: Concentration, Mystery, Treasure, and Feat tokens.
Concentration tokens activate Loot cards to influence dice rolls. Mystery tokens help you overcome Encounters during your visits to the Gaping Chasm.
Treasure tokens allow you to purchase useful Loot cards from the Trading Post, granting you a permanent in-game effect.
Prowess tokens allow you to play one-time-use Prowess cards from your hand. Ancient Terrible Things: Reawakened is the third version of the Dicequest game system, previously used in Ancient Terrible Things (1st/2nd edition) and Konja.
This third edition incorporates the revised and updated content from all previous versions and expansions, along with new artwork and multilingual graphic design, for a definitive edition of ATT.
