During the reign of Rudolf II, Prague was a capital of the occult arts. Alchemists and personalities from all walks of life rubbed shoulders there. Some hoped to concretize the alchemical formulas that they had developed after months of study. The others appreciated meeting unusual individuals to the point of becoming their patrons.
On the Place de l'Horloge Astronomique as in the famous Rue d'Or, good encounters allowed alchemists to acquire their mysterious components during skillful negotiations. The Emperor, a great lover of esotericism, intervened by influencing the actors in these intrigues. He made his wishes known through a messenger carrying an enigmatic seal representing an ouroboros. Join the city of alchemists to accomplish your Magnum Opus, your “great work,” with more brilliance than your peers!”
Each player plays an alchemist who has come to Prague to gather the alchemical components necessary to create one or two formulas for his Magnum Opus.
Each Component acquired, each formula completed and each pair of Components in sight earns prestige points. The player with the most at the end of the game is declared the winner.
Requires interactions between players: we don't just accumulate resources. Beautiful material: black core “tarot blade” format cards and metal medallion. Really different game strategies depending on the number of players.
Number of players : 2 to 5
Minimum playing time : 30 to 45 minutes
Minimum age : 12 and +
